Since its foundation in 1907, our company’s name has stood for user-friendly medication and innovation in the manufacture of medicines.

HERMES has been owned by the Burges family for three generations now. The entrepreneurial tradition initially began with the filling and sale of herbal teas and plant-based pharmaceutical products. HERMES conducts its national and international commercial activities from its bases in Grosshesselohe and Wolfratshausen, south of the Bavarian capital of Munich.

Its receptiveness to change and innovation, its courage in undertaking technological developments, and its consistent orientation toward the needs of its customers have confirmed HERMES’ commercial competence from the very beginning.

The foundation for HERMES’ success today was laid in the sixties with an innovative manufacturing process for effervescent tablets, which established HERMES’ reputation as a leader in this technology and as a manufacturer of high-quality medicines. With the introduction of new dosage forms, HERMES has again and again proven its innovative capabilities. At the same time, HERMES has consistently incorporated strategic marketing in its company management and applied modern methods to promote sales at a very early stage.

This commercial development has been accompanied by pronounced continuity and mutual loyalty between the owner-family and the employees. This forms the basis for the creativity and flexibility which we utilize for the successful continuation of our company development.
