Hi-tech production plant in Wolfsberg
In only 18 months, the construction of one of the most modern pharmaceutical plants in Austria was completed in Wolfsberg in May 2009. The facility with a floor space of 12,500 square metres increases production capacity by 50 per cent and encompasses an 8,000 square-metre clean-room area with the latest pharmaceutical technology, process infrastructure and fully automated high-rack warehouse at its heart.
The planning and design of the new plant focused on such aspects as high production flexibility, fast throughput times and permanent process optimization in particular. Essential manufacturing steps such as weighing raw materials or feeding continuous-flow granulators from silos are therefore fully automatic. The high-rack warehouse for Euro and one-way pallets with its computer supported storage system facilitates substantially optimized access times.
This investment has empowered HERMES to extend its cutting-edge position in the field of effervescent or solid soluble dosage forms and to continue its production in accordance with the highest pharmaceutical standards in the future. The new plant fulfils all the prevailing national and international directives for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and medicinal products.
